About this Comic
I first made this comic as a non-digital version posted to Instagram back in June 2023. To be honest, I didn’t put too much thought behind this comic. I just wanted to draw an apocalypse version of my living room and thought of a split second story to go around that. Accidentally showering through the apocalypse because I lost track of time without my phone was absurd enough to run with. After all, wouldn’t I notice when the water got shut off after the building got wrecked? Or at least notice the smell of whatever that green stuff is hanging in the air? Evidentially not, and that’s why I’m here.
Other Notes
- I was in there so long I changed my art style!
- Aside from the pit where my kitchen used to be, I’d say this place is still pretty livable. Though I haven’t seen the rest of it yet.
- Despite it just serving as buildup to the last page, my favorite panel is actually the last one on the third page. Mainly for the wall detail and the ominous glow around the hallway entrance.
- I tried to create a color contrast between the apocalypse and non apocalypse sections. The apocalypse section was all awash with a green hue and green-based color palette. The rest of the comic… didn’t have a clear color palette I was working with but I tried to stick with cool colors and beige/creams.
Anyway, I hope you liked this comic and learned a valuable lesson on why you should never separate yourself from your phone. Ever. Even for a second or the apocalypse will come for us all.
